General of the Army Pavel Batov, Moscow

In Moscow, USSR, David Irving (right) interviewed by appointment the Soviet general Pavel Batov, who commanded the armies which crushed the Hungarian uprising of 1956. The research was for Mr Irving’s account of the revolution, Uprising, published in 1981 by Hodder & Stoughton.
